"We have stayed at this motel 6 many times when we go to Joshua tree national park. It is inexpensive but clean, allows dogs, beds are comfortable and sheets are quality cotton. The shower is strong and consistent, and there is no weird cleaner smell or tobacco smell. I have never seen bugs of any kind and the surrounding area is safe with lots of dining options. "

"After car camping for a few night this place got the important things right: views, comfy bed, good coffee. The driveway situation was a bit rough on my Honda civic, note there are TWO driveways to go up so if you’re looking at the super steep and rocky one, go around the block. "

"Roadrunner Roost is a wonderful respite after a long day hiking in Joshua National Park. A beautiful well equipped kitchen easy access to grocery stores and a super outdoor grill make eating at the rental easy. If you like to eat dinner out, we loved 29 Palms Inn and Kitchen in the Desert Cafe were beyond our expectations . Delicious food and a fun atmosphere.Patricia of Road Runner Roost was everything you could hope for in a host."

"Staff was very accommodating, considering how late I arrived. All the staff was super friendly. I was downstairs, I could easily hear the upstair neighbors thumping around and everyone's water pressure as neighbors turned on their showers. Breakfast was good and much appreciated. Thank you."

"This house had a fantastic location, very close to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, and a short drive into downtown Twentynine Palms. In addition to the convenience, we enjoyed the amenities, particularly the 80’s arcade system and the mini Super Nintendo. My 6-year-old got excited to watch my wife and I go head-to-head on the games of our youth, like Super Mario Kart and Street Fighter II. We also appreciated the listing being pet-friendly. The one heads up I would give is that the house does not have central heating, instead relying on a couple space heaters and a pellet stove (which was easy to operate, and stocked with plenty of pellets between the main bucket and an extra economy-sized bag in the garage). We stayed during the winter (December 2024), and found it a bit chilly at night, so pack accordingly. Overall, we had a great stay and would be interested in returning for future trips to JT."
