"Stayed in a single first floor garden room for one night. I have stayed here before and the rooms are always clean and well stocked with coffee bags and tea, and the bathroom toiletries are lovely. The garden rooms are quiet as they are at the rear of the property, so once you’re in your room you should get a reasonable nights sleep. Room 18 has French windows so you can open them and relax in your armchair with a book and cup of tea. Breakfast is good and there’s a lot of choice whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or omnivorous. I would heartily recommend Darwin’s if you’re planning on staying in Shrewsbury."

"Cromwells is in a great position in the town with nearby car parking. We were greeted with a smile by the staff and shown our room (5). Room was large, clean and the bed was large and comfy, also plenty of tea/coffee. If you're a light sleeper I'd suggest ear plugs as, although there is double glazing (it's an old building), you can still hear some noise from the street. Sadly we never used the bar area but it looked lovely. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. "

"The property is ideally located and parking is available. The hotel is a little old and dated, but has a lot of character and history. Ideally placed right in the centre of town. The Staff are the hotel's best asset helpful, friendly and professional with lots of local knowledge. The ensuite room was a good size had everything we needed again note the building is quite old so forgive the uneven floors or creaks for us that's part of the character of the hotel and we liked it. There's lots of local restaurants pubs beer gardens and cocktail bars around and it's a short stroll along the river bank nearby. "

"We were attending a wedding at Tower Hill Barns and found this hotel to be excellent. They organised the taxi for us to/from the venue at short notice and there were five of us in one large taxi. The hotel breakfast was excellent. The reception guys we dealt with were extremely helpful in everything we needed. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but when we had the breakfast we wished we did! The only downside is the very narrow entrance to the hotel car park which was a very tight manoeuvre but one of us got out of the car to guide the car in."
