"We checked in at 2 but had to wait until 3 in the restaurant with one complimentary drink. The room was clean and functional however the bed was VERY firm and we did wake with some aches and pains."

"Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff."

After numerous attempts to find out how to get access to the property (phone calls/voicemail/messages/what's app) I had to check my family (Me, my Wife my 4 year old and 6 year old) into a hotel at 8pm. "2nd time staying here. Had a course view, lovely room. There were a couple of minor issues when I came into the room, but these were reported and resolved within 10mins, couldn't ask for more. Only issue I have is that it's 20.00 to park even when you're staying, which seems a bit steep"

"Loved the Indian restaurant within the pub, food was so flavourful best curry I’ve tasted, the rooms are in a separate building just off the back, so don’t worry about your room being tainted by curry odours. Pub does food as well which looked good, would definitely recommend "

"The Briarcroft Wayth Hotel is a small boutique hotel and great place to stay. Parking is easy to find, the sitting area is lovely. They provide a guest kitchen with refrigerator dishwasher sink, etc., as well as tea, coffee, sugar, and milk. The rooms are nice, although some are still under renovation. The staff is helpful and friendly. My only wish was that the mattress had a soft mattress topper to make the bed more comfortable. Other than that it was a great stay!"

"Its a delightful tavern. Plenty of room on the car park and onto a traditional, friendly bar where my hosts booked me in quickly and with a great intro to how everything worked. Business or pleasure, this is a great hotel

"Great hotel, very comfortable room and the location is perfect. Breakfast is wonderful and I used one of the business pods for a meeting…so easy to set up and and very comfortable. Had to use the NCP parking which is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel but the hotel offered a reduction (30%) so remember to ask at reception upon check out"

The Milner York formerly the Principal York

"Wonderful experience staying at the Milner in York. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the hotel is beautiful and exudes a calm and tranquil vibe. The superior twin room was spotless and very comfortable. Very large modern and bright bathroom and wide access rainfall shower. The lighting in the room was a bit dim for me but may suit others. Lovely pool which wasn’t busy. Good buffet breakfast which was leisurely and offered a wide variety of options. We requested a late checkout and as it was my birthday and courtesy of the hotel, I received a complimentary plate of delicious mini cakes which added to the special magic of this wonderful hotel. Staff go the extra mile and are happy to cater for any request. Ideally placed for walking around the stunning historic sites of York and jumping on the train home! Definitely recommended. "
