"What a gem. The rooms are amazing and the property in itself is a tranquil escape to be taken in like a slow breath. This was a gift for my wife on her birthday, the stay and a visit to the spa for some pampering. She was thoroughly impressed and loved everything about it. You are only a walk away from the plaza and we even walked from there to Michael’s Kitchen for an amazing lunch. Great escape for anyone. "

"We loved our stay at Palacio Marquesa during our weekend in Taos. The place is charming and peaceful, with access to amenities at their sister properties like the pool and fitness center. The hospitality was excellent—Sam greeted us by name and made us feel truly welcome. The only downside was the breakfast. It was very limited, offering just one main item along with some fruit and pastries. If you have any food allergies, you're basically left with just fruit, which isn’t ideal considering the higher price for breakfast. Other than that, it’s a great place that I highly recommend. Next time, we’ll definitely return—just without the breakfast add-on."

"This hotel was one of the most affordable in Taos the night I stayed, so I really wasn’t expecting much. Upon check-in, the front desk staff informed me she had “upgraded” my room at no charge. The room was beyond awesome, the size of a full apartment, with a small kitchen, patio, living room area, fireplace, murphy bed, huge comfortable california king size bed, beautifully handcrafted furniture and beautiful natural wood details on the ceiling and throughout the room. I honestly was blown away each time I walked in the door. There was a huge and beautiful restaurant and “cantina” on the property and the $8 breakfast burrito I ordered for breakfast was delicious and kept me filled the whole day. The property as a whole is spacious and old… in that typical Taos spanish colonial style…and I found it to be magical and charming. The staff were friendly and the fitness center was teeny tiny but had a decent treadmill and was accessible late into the night. For the money I paid this place far exceeded my expectations and I would go back in a heartbeat!"

"Immediately before staying for 3 nights at La Loma, I had stayed at Monte Sagrado, and the price/quality ratio was vastly superior at La Loma. Aside from all the personal touches (including, for example, a personally tailored breakfast menu every morning), the inn had many surprises of charm that one rarely sees anymore, anywhere. For example, my room had a traditional pueblo-style fireplace (kiva) with firewood and matches that got replenished every morning. I travel a ton throughout the world (for both work and pleasure) and don’t recall ever seeing an actual working fireplace (with real wood) anywhere, so that was fun and different. Further, the architecture and appointments of the inn were phenomenal, and the innkeeper Peggy Davis, is genial, smart, and knowledgeable. All in all a great experience. La Loma will definitely be my go-to whenever I go back to Taos. "
