"The hotel was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly. It was good for my business trip needs, as the room had a kitchenette and living area. The property is a little dated, but not distracting."

"Convenient location for our day trip to Milford Sound, located within walking distance to the town centre. Parking available on-site, right outside your doorstep. Room was spacious and equipped with decent heating. The property itself is a little tired looking and could use some sheer curtains across the main windows to allow some light in while maintaining a level of privacy."

"The property was exactly as described. Rooms are basic, but well maintained & comfortable. The staff is pleasant. Property is easily walkable to the main town center with shops/cafes. The lake view is unbeatable. Served as a nice location to adventure on Doubtful & Milford Sound. "

"We spent a very comfortable night in a converted railway carriage which was quirky and a lot of fun. The carriage had pretty much everything you could require including a claw foot bath and a fabulous view of the distant snow covered mountains. Breakfast was provided and was served in the main building. A couple of things do need attention though, firstly the Wi-Fi signal which was too weak to function efficiently and secondly there was a broken window pane above the bed. "
