"Super unique experience off the beaten path to stay in a beautiful Ryokan. Would be great for a value with larger families, but be prepared to understand the busses or get a taxi, not a ton to do in the immediate area. On the other hand, staff was nice, limited but plenty of English with my terrible Japanese. Food was excellent and beautifully plated. Rooms were truly amazing, one of my favorite things on my travels."

"Although the room appeared small for 4 travellers with luggage it was perfectly big enough. The futons were extremely comfortable but wish I had more pillows. The bathroom was large but not necessary with the bathhouse included in the stay! The bathhouse was one of the highlights of my Japan trip. "Staff went far beyond what we expected. Every single person was always accommodating and helpful. The room was magnificent. In hindsight I think a regular tub would have been enough. The huge ceramic outside tub was beautiful, but being from California and drought conditions I felt guilty filling up the huge tub every night. Also eloquent, but if you are seniors, or have any hip/back complaints, there were multiple stairs inside our room. Although shallow, two up at entry. Two down for...

"This is a very traditional ryokan experience and I had a wonderful time!!! I stayed 2 nights after some time in Tokyo and the vibes were immaculate. Upon arrival you take off your shoes and are greeted, given a tour of the place, escorted to your assigned room, and then given a welcome matcha! They serve you a traditional Japanese breakfast that differs every morning (you book this in advance when you arrive) The bath/shower area is shared but you have to reserve a time slot to utilize it...

"A great Ryokan in the city! Bonus: a renovated Onsen! Rooms were traditional and clean. Not your western experience as there are no beds or in-room shower, but we slept like a baby! Staff super friendly. Highly recommended!"
