"We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Rila Borovets. The room, and the bathroom especially, were on the small side. That said, it’s right by the slopes and you can pretty much ski right into the hotel. We took the half board option, which was very convenient. There’s a wide variety of options, though hard to get the waiters to serve you drinks. The hotel has the reputation as the best one in Borovets. We enjoyed our stay, and would likely stay there again if we return to the resort "

"A 4* hotel this is not. It's OK if you're just looking for a place to crash in Borovets but it's on the outskirts of town (10 min walk to town if you're not in ski boots). Has a sauna but no jacuzzi or steam room and the pool is not really big enough for swimming properly. Breakfast was average if you got there reasonably early but by 8am everything on the hot counters is cool and doesn't get replaced."

"Great food. Shuttle bus is a joke. It takes 8 people every 15 mins but the staff allow more than 8 to sign up, so when the bus does arrive (often late), it’s a free-for-all regarding who gets on. Take earplugs. All rooms have noisy doors and all night you’ll hear banging as people come and go. It’s a bargain. Get what you pay for. "
