"Everything was perfect. The only thing I would like to mention is that the receptionist only recommended their transportation when we wanted to head out to town instead of giving us the option between their transportation and Uber. Their transportation fee was $28 plus tax and Uber was $7. Other than that, this is a really great resort. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the views are AMAZING! "Nice new hotel. Comfortable and clean. We were not happy with the arrangement for pick-up at the airport. No listing for HGI although other hotels were named on signage; we had multiple people trying to hustle us to take rides with them. Thankfully HGI shuttle driver eventually showed up and explained to us that he'd be back soon to pick us up (the hustlers kept saying (lying) that it would take 45 mins for him to return). HGI should have very clear signage at the airport and they should proactively communicate with arriving guests to make sure to only take a ride with the HGI shuttle"

"We stayed here the days of our arrival and departure from SJO. Perfect for our needs. Super clean room and facilities. Recognizing they are far from town, they offer dinner and bar service in the evening. Having a nice cocktail and dinner in our room was a relaxing way to end our day."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel! We spent three nights and booked all of our tours and drivers through the hotel and everything was wonderful. All of our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the spas are lovely. We ate in all three restaurants and enjoyed all of our meals and the breakfast buffet had many choices. Costa Rican coffee is delicious and the service was outstanding. The room was very nice with a private patio where I could watch the birds each morning. The air conditioning cooled the room to a nice temperature. We had plenty of time to relax and go on adventures. I highly recommend this hotel. Pura vita! "

"Very welcoming check in process, very clean, beautiful grounds, beautiful views of volcano and surrounding, thermal pools were really nice. Restaurant had great food. Pricey but you get what you pay for. "
