"Ideally located if you want to climb up the Florence Dome in the early morning. It is only two minutes away from the entrance gate. The staff was very kind and helpful. I heartily recommend you this guest house. Just keep in mind that they do not have an elevator (a lift). So you need to go up the stairs before getting to the front desk. "

"Walking distance from all shops and main city attractions. Very safe. You can hear all the noise from people going in and out since it’s an old structure but very secure and easy to get to everywhere within walking distance. Nice RR and great AC. "

"Loved the room, loved the location. Directly across from Pitti Palace and within walking distance to many great sites. A quick five minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio. We had a 2 bdrm/2 bath suite which was huge and having two bathrooms was great. Didn’t have much contact with reception but enjoyed our stayed. Shopping and restaurants all around. Would stay again."

"The hostess at this hotel was the best! She was so helpful and kind. The room was quaint and had a wood ceiling and wood beam, which gave it lots of character. We had a private bathroom that was down 5 steps which was a little tricky to use. It was an older bathroom and had a few small issues. The hotel was about 5-10 minute walk from the train station which made it really convenient for dropping off our luggage before exploring Florence. Our hostess provided a delicious breakfast for us."

"Check in was a puzzle!! I felt safe afterwards because there were so many steps, phone call, text, locks and keys. You will be safe during a riot or zombie apocalypse. No one can get in. There is no staff. There is no services. It would be considered a luxury if there was staff and services. It would be luxury if there was at least a mini fridge to put beverages or small food items for our 6 day stay. Our room, The Botticelli, has windows to the street. "We had the top floor room with its own rooftop terrace. Very large and comfortable space with great views from every window. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. Shower could have been hotter and Friday and Saturday nights outside in the square can get noisy till 2am. Awesome location, would definitely stay here again!"

"Had wonderful experience. Spacious. Clean. Quite pleasing view as well. Would have been better if it was river view, but terrace view wasn't that bad. Bed was comfy as well. Staff were all friendly."

"Hotel Calimala Firenze was probably one of the best hotels nested in the heart of Florence. My family of four was traveling Italy for 11 days during last Christmas holiday. We chose to stay at Hotel Calimala from 12:25-12/27. If you have a chance to stay at this property, please choose it without any hesitation. We reserved 2 bedrooms next to each other ( one room occupied by my 13 and 15 yr old sons). We stayed at a deluxe bedroom and everything was perfect. Welcome gifts and bottled water were served daily. We also had great amenities offered in both bedrooms. Breakfast was great and plentiful. House keeping was provided daily. Hotel staffs were very professional and courteous. Also everything is in walking distance. Uffizzi Museum was only 3 minutes away, shopping centers and restaurants were just minutes away, and even Duomo was only 4 minutes away. We plan to return to this property again in near future when visiting Italy. "

"We contacted the hotel to see if we could drop off our bags early and they said yes. When we arrived 2 hours early, our room was ready so we were allowed to check in then which was a pleasant surprise! They had free bottles of water in the room for us and bedroom shoes. The staff was very friendly and they did a great job in cleaning our room. The hotel was beautiful and we had a pleasant stay."
