"Beautiful, cozy stay near the ocean. Beautiful views a short walk away. Because of the weather we didn't get to use much of the outdoor space, but several nice chairs outside. Felt pretty private, separate entrance from rest of house. The grill was a nice touch, but nowhere to sit and eat inside (other than the bed) so we didn't get a chance to cook. Thanks for the lovely stay!"

The cottage has the tiny house feel and is perfectly located for all adventures to surrounding areas. We did Boston, Salem, Gloucester, Berlin, Rockport, Woodstock. "The Hawthorne Hotel in Salem is amazing. Fantastic location, really great vibe in the lobby - feels like a fancy living room. You are welcomed to relax and read, have a glass of wine or cup of tea, do a little people watching - I've never been in a hotel before where I actually wanted to hang out in the lobby, it's usually just a place to wait. The rooms are nice and clean and quiet and have the amenities you need, you can control the heat and open the windows a little bit if you want some fresh air, beds are comfortable. This is our second year having a little 'staycation' at the Hawthorne, it's now a tradition we all look forward to. "
