"Seemed a bit expensive for what was offered (no breakfast/cafe da manha) but accomodation was extremely tight on Sao Miguel Island vs. Faial Island. A bit of traffic in the st. but I still slept well."

"Peaceful & tranquil, to the highest standard, looks like a brand new hotel with a new pool area. A lovely double room with huge shower & aircon. A small fridge in the room. Cakes available at tea time & a superb continental breakfast with cooked eggs."

"This is the best hotel in the middle of the most exciting part of downtown Ponta Delgada. Parking could be tricky if you're renting a car but there are options nearby so it would be a short walk. Fantastic restaurants are everywhere and generally you won't need to walk uphill on your way home. I'd say more specifically nice things but this is my favorite hotel and I want to have it available for my next visit. Patricia is caring and wonderful and is ready to help whenever and however you need....

"It’s a beautiful home overlooking Ponta Delgada. There’s a beautiful pool in back and it’s extremely walkable as you are right in the old area all section of the city. Everything is very comfortable."

"Overall the experience at Casa Ateneu was a positive one The only complaint I have is the lack of communication with staff The code for the entrance was changed in the middle of our stay and we were not told about it until an hour after we had to reach out to the staff An "included" breakfast never arrived, and when we asked about it the message was never responded to These aside, good location, well kept and positive experience. "

"I went in the off season so there were only ever a couple other guests in an 8 room Guesthouse - but the space is very well kept, clean, pretty. The courtyard is nice. Eduardo is helpful. I think it would be more difficult to share the kitchen space and you’d hear other people more if the place was full. Overall though - a good spot! Basically within the old city so it’s nice! "

"Livramento is a small town so very quiet and easy to find parking. However, you may need to rent a car if you choose to stay here. Price is reasonable. Rooms size OK, beds OK, and water pressure of shower was stable. Facility was good - shared dining room and 3 x washer machines (4 but 1 was broken). "This place was amazing. We had our own bathroom and one of the best views ever. The staff was excellent, the rooms were always clean and fresh smelling. Was a little skeptical at first with no air conditioning but we never needed it. There was a ceiling fan installed during our stay as well as the balcony door opened all day and night. Never felt hot, easy to sleep. Excellent stay"

"The quality and size of the “apartments” (they’re basically houses, it’s great) is phenomenal for the price. "Our stay at Hotel Verde Mar & Spa in Ribeira Grande was a great escape. The location is fantastic, nestled by Monte Verde Beach and close to a charming little town that’s fun to explore. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we enjoyed the amenities, especially the indoor pool and sauna, which were perfect for relaxing. The staff really stood out—they were incredibly helpful with booking activities and ready to assist with anything we needed during our stay, which made the trip run smoothly. Breakfast was another highlight—everything was fresh and delicious. And while the ocean views from the restaurant and pool added a lovely touch to the experience, the overall atmosphere was peaceful without being overly flashy. It’s a solid choice for a laid-back stay in the Azores, balancing comfort and convenience well."
