"Overall the experience at Casa Ateneu was a positive one The only complaint I have is the lack of communication with staff The code for the entrance was changed in the middle of our stay and we were not told about it until an hour after we had to reach out to the staff An "included" breakfast never arrived, and when we asked about it the message was never responded to These aside, good location, well kept and positive experience. "

"This is the best hotel in the middle of the most exciting part of downtown Ponta Delgada. Parking could be tricky if you're renting a car but there are options nearby so it would be a short walk. Fantastic restaurants are everywhere and generally you won't need to walk uphill on your way home. I'd say more specifically nice things but this is my favorite hotel and I want to have it available for my next visit. Patricia is caring and wonderful and is ready to help whenever and however you need....

"This is a great place with an ocean view in Ponta Delgada. We loved everything about it. Suitable for couples traveling. The employees are more than welcoming, lovely breakfast, very clean, modern design. "

"No reception, but online service is as good as possible given they work office hours. The facilities themselves are good, clean and modern. Small louge and kitchen area available. "

"It’s a beautiful home overlooking Ponta Delgada. There’s a beautiful pool in back and it’s extremely walkable as you are right in the old area all section of the city. Everything is very comfortable."

"Nice area to sit outside, well stocked kitchen, each room has a cabinet for items, basket of fruit from owner’s garden and lovely cake was on one of the tables for guests to enjoy. Diana works very hard keeping the place clean and is always available if have any questions. Short walk to two excellent local restaurants, small but well stocked supermarket and the Trilho Ecologico da Urzelina (TEU), a beautiful 3 KM coast path. "

"I went in the off season so there were only ever a couple other guests in an 8 room Guesthouse - but the space is very well kept, clean, pretty. The courtyard is nice. Eduardo is helpful. I think it would be more difficult to share the kitchen space and you’d hear other people more if the place was full. Overall though - a good spot! Basically within the old city so it’s nice! "

"Peaceful & tranquil, to the highest standard, looks like a brand new hotel with a new pool area. A lovely double room with huge shower & aircon. A small fridge in the room. Cakes available at tea time & a superb continental breakfast with cooked eggs."

"Seemed a bit expensive for what was offered (no breakfast/cafe da manha) but accomodation was extremely tight on Sao Miguel Island vs. Faial Island. A bit of traffic in the st. but I still slept well."

"This place was amazing. We had our own bathroom and one of the best views ever. The staff was excellent, the rooms were always clean and fresh smelling. Was a little skeptical at first with no air conditioning but we never needed it. There was a ceiling fan installed during our stay as well as the balcony door opened all day and night. Never felt hot, easy to sleep. Excellent stay"

"This is a super cute and unique place! We loved breakfast and the dinner options. Having the pineapple greenhouses right there to explore was great. The massage in the pineapple garden was fantastic! Would definitely rebook!"

"The air was very damp and smelled like mold. There was indeed some black mold on the shower curtain and on the window curtain. Everything felt slightly damp in the room including our pillows. It was therefore extremely uncomfortable and hard to sleep. We woke up in the morning feeling nausea presumably because of the disgusting air. There was also a door to the outside that rattled loudly every time a gust of wind blew which also made it hard to sleep. Overall I would recommend finding different...
