"The quiet setting of this old farmhouse provided a calm retreat from the hectic days of sightseeing. Giacomo was a gracious host, meeting us when we arrived, giving us numerous helpful tips about sightseeing and restaurants, things to do and places to see. The spacious bedrooms of the house and views of the countryside are beautiful. There are stairs to negotiate, and having a vehicle is helpful. "

Easy access to the lovely sandy beaches within 5 miles. We were able to go to Pisa a couple of times with all its history worth a visit. "We had to cancel at late notice for a serious (life-threatening) medical condition for which we offered the host medical evidence. This was never taken up. We spoke to Vrbo prior to speaking to the host. The host tracked me down through WhatsApp and communicated directly. She was hostile and kept arguing that we had done her harm. "Carla is a natural-born host. She lives about a mile away, she was not intrusive but was helpful on check in (she physically lead us to the house as not all roads are passable in a normal size car), she texted us when there was a planned powercut coming up etc. Her English is immaculate. The house location is stunning - the photos on the listing do not do justice to the mountain view from the living room and patio. The house is immediately surrounded by several others and it's about a mile...

"A beautiful location. The house had everything you could possibly want. The outdoor space was picture perfect and the pool very welcome on such hot days. The property is remote and not for the faint hearted to drive but so worth it. "

"What a beautiful location. Perfect for day trips to all the Tuscan attractions and towns. Less than 5 minute drive to Montecarlo where you can find some lovely restaurants. Grocery shopping is close by as well. Luigi and Franca were awesome. Luigi went out of his way to educate us on where to go in Tuscany and shared much about his interesting life history. "Beautiful well appointed flat in the middle of Lucca! Steps away from all of th sites and sounds of the city! Kitchen, terrace, bedrooms /bathrooms were all pristine! Only complaint was contractors on scaffolding right outside the terrace and kitchen windows…..and the elevator was out of service for a 5th floor flat. A pre-arrival notification would have been appreciated as we would have attempted to find an alternate location without the walk up."
