"Nice inn in bucolic rural agriculture setting. Friendly family staff. Wonderful dinners. Standard Italian breakfast with coffee and breads, pastries, no fruit or eggs or meats or cheeses. Two things very wrong: - ringing if church belts from 1 am to 6 pm at least twice per hour and one set of 30 (thirty!!) rings at 0600 am on our second day. -crowing of at least four roosters from 3am onwards. "This was an excellent choice for a place to stay in La Spezia. I am so happy that i booked this hotel. The decor was modern. The staff was excellent and very welcoming. Even the people staying at the hotel were friendly. The breakfast was great as well amd had a good variety of food to choose from. The room was comfortable and I had a huge balcony. I love being near clock towers and this room didn't disappoint! It is walkable to the train station and just about everything else in La Spezia. If you need a place to stay, The Poet Hotel is it! For the people who talk about the strong fragrance, this is a large reed diffuser that is located in the stairwell. It was noticable outside the room, but definitely not in my room. "
