"The best part of the trip was the boat tour. The lake and area are beautiful. Please match the online listing to signs posted in the suite (e.g. Pool hours only 6am to 9pm). Check-in was confusing and not advised when requesting it in advance. Pool area is not very private with a half-frosted glass partition wall next to the host’s TV/common area. "My wife and I spent a wonderful week in September at the Gecieve Opinicon. The cottage is clean and well-appointed with all you need for your stay. There is an incredible view of the water from the property including the sun room and bedroom. We spent many hours on the clear water in the kayaks with plenty of wildlife to see. "We arrived to find that our “luxurious cottage” was a cabin in a trailer park, trail of dog poop brought us to the door. We don’t mind rustic but moldy coffee left in the maker and someone’s soap in the shower was just the start. I paid for it and slept on the couch cushions on the floor. We made the best of it for our friends birthday but no privacy, no wifi and didn’t even get the cottage in the picture was enough for me. View was nice tho. "

"We had a wonderful stay at the Sharbot Lake House. We were a bit weary when we first pulled up - the house is right next to a shoddy looking garage and a marina - but the owners have done a great job with privacy fencing and you really don’t notice it at all once on the property. The marina was also very quiet, and didn’t pose a problem at all. There are a LOT of weeds in the water, making it unswimmable from the dock, but we’d paddle out a ways and have great swims in the deep, warm water. The...

"This is an authentic old country house with original, solid wood furniture and comfy chairs. It has the quirky bits of old architecture (tiny toilets) but was clean and in good repair. The stars at night were spectacular without other light pollution."

"Like the title says, the owners are very nice and doing their best but that can't cover up all the issues. The owners live on site by the way, along with the three cottages that are for rent...one right beside you at the pool level and one behind you that walks by the pool area to access the lake. There is not really any outdoor privacy. The view from the pool area and deck is breathtaking. The steps down to the pool from the cottage are definitely not to code, but there is a railing to hang...
