Beautiful Log Home on Quiet Private Lake

The Cottage is a custom built Log Home designed for the entire family. It is located on a private lake 350km North East of Toronto. Loons and beavers will greet you as you sit on the dock in the morning! If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway....this cottage is for you! This is my 4th Year renting and have truly enjoyed sharing the cottage with everyone.
Whether you like to sit and relax, canoe, fish or just lay out on the dock, you can do it all at the cottage. The night skies are especially dark and stargazing is a favorite thing to do! The Cottage can sleep up to 6 people with room on the couches for 2 more!
This reservation has a Super Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 14 day prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 14 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 7 to 13 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 7 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, smoking permitted outside only,no parties or events, pets permitted. I also have a large aviary so you can bring along your pet birds budgies canary, cockatoos parrots etc and your furry friends like hamsters bunnies gerbils too
I have a reptile cage for your lizards and snakes etc. no family member should miss out on the family vacation

If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing time this is the spot for you. At night it gets so dark you can see all the stars. Gary was super helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful Weekend Getaway
We had a fantastic weekend with perfect weather. We enjoyed canoeing and playing in the warm lake. At night, we had a lovely evening in front of a campfire, relishing the peace and quiet away from the city noise. Gary warmly welcomed us and provided all the necessary information about the cottage. The best part was that our furry friends were also welcome, which we truly appreciated. Thanks for the wonderful getaway!

Best Campsite Ever!
My husband and I have always canoe tripped in Algonquin or Killarney in the summer. This year we decided to rent a cabin instead. It was wonderful. There were all the comforts of home plus loons, forest and a lovely quiet lake to paddle. We enjoyed having our standard poodle join in the adventure. Gary was a fabulous host sharing his passion and enthusiasm for astronomy with us. We would happily recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet cabin getaway.

A terrific getaway!
The cottage and surrounding area were great to explore. Very easy to find and very cozy. Our host Gary was wonderful, very communicative and even offered us a tour of his observatory as well as a pontoon boat ride! Our pup loved him too :) Would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

Excellent stay
The cottage was perfect for us. Full of character, lovely location, a great place for us to sit out on the swing-seat and take in the quiet, the lake, colours, chipmunks and birdlife. Gary was a very helpful host, inviting us to a telescope star-gazing evening, which was a high point of our stay. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at Gary's cottage. It was clean, private and right on the lake. Gary was an excellent host and he even invited us to look at the stars from his observatory. Gary is an excellent host! The lake is very quiet and peaceful! Loved watching the meteor shower on the dock in our hammock 🙂 I have never seen so many stars, it was beautiful!!! And if you want to take star watching to a whole different level, hopefully you’re lucky enough that Gary will invite you to his observatory

Great get away!
Our stay at the cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Tucked away, right on the water with everything we needed. It was a cool log cabin itself, with tons of neat outer space decor. Gary was a pleasure to get to know and he made everything super easy for check in/out. The only problem we had, was not having more time to spend there. We will definitely come again and stay at Gary's cottage again...I want to see the observatory!

Great Canada Day Weekend Getaway
A nice serene drive on Farm Lake Trail takes you to a beautiful authentic Log house. House comes equipped with everything you need. A modest dock was enough for 4 friends to get some sun, have a few brewskies and enjoy the scenic lake. A little bit of fishing and some canoeing really hit the spot. There’s a nice fire pit too but unfortunately a fire ban in the area at the time did not let us make use of it. Would rent it again.

Quiet and peaceful
Beautiful lakeside log cottage, nestled into the trees so keeps cool on the hot summer days. Well stocked kitchen with all the basics, ceramic flat top stove, large fridge with excellent large freezer. Host Gary is close by, very available and very helpful. Good walking trails around the cottage, we stayed close to home with our older dog, but lots of good day trips with easy access. We had a quiet and restful week, just what the doctor ordered!

Fantastic weekend vacation spot
Gary is very friendly and met us there to give us a run down of what we needed to know. The property was very well kept. It is a beautiful open concept log cabin with a beautiful outdoor firepit/ eating area. A nice set of carriage lights led down the path to the dock. The lake was a little shallow with a muddy bottom but still fantastic for swimming. The electric fireplace heats up the cabin very quickly. There are very friendly birds and chipmunks that eat seeds while you're there. Overall very quiet and cozy experience.

Relaxation vacation!
This cottage is just right. Everything you need for a perfectly relaxing vacation. Although the weather didn’t exactly cooperate with our plans we had an extremely relaxing 5 days. Gary is an extremely attentive host, offered both a boat ride tour of the lake and to share his passion for star gazing. This cottage has everything you need for a quiet getaway. The cottage is fully equipped in the kitchen with all the comforts of home. We absolutely recommend for a quiet getaway, to do some fishing, napping and family bonding. Thanks for a great week Gary!

Peace & Quiet
Peace & Quiet was what i wanted for this year's birthday trip. And that's what I got here at the cabin house even thought it was labor day long weekend. We had a comfortable stay with a scenic view. Gary is a great host and shared his passion with us - stars and sky. Going to dark sky preserve and seeing saturn with ring and it's moon along with earth's moon was a truly memorable experience. Things i loved at this stay - peace &quiet, privacy,cozey & comfy fully functional house with amenities, being pet friendly and waterfront site. One of my favorite stays so far and 100% recommend!

Truly relaxing respite
If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful and relaxing place to stay, this is it! The cottage offers all the modern conveniences of home. We enjoyed every morning on the porch swing watching the birds and feeding the chipmunks and squirrels. We spent our days canoeing and floating in the quiet lake and were blessed to see and hear loons. The stars at night were phenomenal! Gary took us to the local observatories where we enjoyed both night and day star gazing. Gary could not have been a more perfect host - he was immediately responsive when we had any questions and provided us privacy for the week. Gary went over and above with his introduction to the place, the area and other features and attractions. We will absolutely stay here again!
