"The hotel is a bit out of town and very peaceful. Lovely view of the hills. Checkin was friendly and welcoming. Room was rather bland and slightly 1970s, but clean and well kept. Most importantly it was warm a comfortable and I got a good night’s sleep. The bar closed very early which was a shame as I’d arranged to meet a friend at 9pm but by then all was in darkness. I would have liked to try the £10 breakfast but had already arranged to eat elsewhere. All in all, a good value stay in a...

"All was ok,the bed was a little small for me because l am 6,6 ! You could use a few hooks in the bathroom for towels, all in all we had a nice stay!"

"The Cain Valley is steeped in tradition and about as far from todays modern chain hotels as you can get. Great service, fair prices, good beer and enthusiastic staff. Very much a breath of fresh air. Its also well frequented by the locals - which is usually a good sign. but can get a little noisy at closing time. So recommend you ask for a room not over the Public Bar."
