We were anticipating a cozy room, in a country pub setting but, in reality, the D&P offers good value, chalet-style family rooms, each with it’s own car port, in a large area behind the pub itself. "We loved the hotel as it was in a remote area, away from the hussle and bustle of city life- it was like stepping back in time. The views from the hotel are amazing Hotel was clean, the staff were welcoming and very accomadatinhg, and went out their way to help you. We will definateky be back, hopefully in the summer to explore more. The only downside, the sat nav didnt pick uo the property and took us on a scenic detour, which is ok but not when its pitch black in December. What shoukd have...

"Check in was very smooth, friendly and professional and the room was everything you can hope for: clean, comfortable and warm. My only comment would be that breakfast should be included for the price"

"Warm and very clean accommadation, exvellent breakfast, staff so helpful . In the room maybe some different teas (mint camomile etc ) I bring my own as I dont bring breakfast tea, but I'm just being picky. Crrtainly reccomend staying her. "

"The Red Lion was a lovely for me and my partner, we had an amazing stay. The staff at the pub were lovely, especially Aviva who was so friendly and helpful in the restaurant. I give four stars only because the price was a little unreasonable for the time of year (mid-November) when many local attractions are closed. Otherwise I could not recommend this place enough for a lovely weekend break. "

"The hotel is very picturesque and characterful. The room was well appointed and decorated. You can eat downstairs in the pub and there was a good menu choice and a range of ales and lagers. Our food was very tasty. Breakfast options are limited. "
