"Close to 2 Bayswater and Queensway tubes. Paddington station about 20 minute walk (or 1 station away on tube), so a good option for the Elizabeth Line to or from the airport. Great proximity to Kensington Gardens, Notting Hill, Holland Park, Little Venice. Friendly staff. Quiet. Walkable to many shops and restaurants. Small kitchen. Overall a good budget stay. I think the hotel's 3-star rating is bang on. This isn't 4 or 5 star, but neither is the price. Would stay again. No elevator...

"Staff were really accommodating when our flight arrived early they helped us check in early. The hotel is in an amazing location, super close to the district and central line (we took the train from Heathrow with no problems). Having the Portobello markets just around the corner was great as well! The property is cosy, if not a little bit quirky (the bathtub is very small and narrow) but the shower was lovely and hot with plenty of pressure too. Would happily stay here again!"

"Our room at The Portobello Hotel was huge and richly decorated...we loved spending time in it ,which is unusual for hotel rooms. Breakfast was delightful. Staff was very accommodating including keeping our bag as we went off to Egypt. Hotel is walking distance to Portobello market and lots of great restaurants and Holland Park!"

"Unfortunately this was not a good experience for my family. We arrived at 730pm and rang the outside bell for 5 minutes and no one let us in. Another guest happened to be coming back and let us in. The room was older and not quite as advertised (the 2nd full bed was a full sized mattress on the bottom of a twin bunk so it was hanging off the side). Our biggest challenge was the cat.
