"Very clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast is some sweet bread. They set out options for pillows from you to choose from. It's a healthy walking distance from Kyoto station with light luggage and the the Nishiki Market area but far enough that it's quiet. Front desk staff was nice. The kitchen and common area downstairs are clean and fine. There is one washer and one dryer and a clothesline on the roof. "Lovely hostel with very kind staff. Everything was very clean and there were a lot of thoughtful touches. It is right on a road so earplugs were helpful to drown out road noise at night. Lots of great food options during the day but things close early so fewer dinner options. Would definitely stay again. "

"I like that I get to experience a nice Kyoto neighborhood. The service could be improved. I felt like the staffs were not friendly every time I said hi. They also turn off the AC in the middle of the might and even if it runs, it’s usually very light so I try to turn on the fan at the same time to avoid sweating. However, it’s hard to sleep due to the fan noises. "

"I was so pleased with Hostel Mundo! It has the style of a traditional Japanese home, with all the comforts that come along with that. Lovely stay and well cared for in Kyoto

"Stayed here for 5 nights with my adult children during cherry blossom season. We were so impressed with the hotel and its staff we changed our plans to travel to Osaka, and instead extended our stay in Kyoto two more nights. The hotel is centrally located near great shopping, restaurants, sites, and transportation. The staff is so kind and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and beds are luxuriously comfortable after a day of seeing beautiful Kyoto. Breakfast buffet is delicious and served in a beautiful room. I only wish the hotel bar was open in the evening so we could linger longer, but there are plenty of bars nearby."

"Hotel is conveniently located to train and bus stations. Lots of high end shops around too aside from drug stores and convenience stores. Walking distance to Nishiki market, Gion and other attractions. Wish we had more time in this area."

"The best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Granted I stay at places like Hyatt Place and things like that but still, AMAZING. Loved the breakfast, the onsen, the location is perfect. No complaints. The staff are the best. 10/10 would recommend. "
