"I'll start by saying i should have been more aware of the location. We just didn't expect it to be twelve miles from Black Hawk, the last few miles on gravel. That's great if that's what you're looking for. But the pictures don't show the busy highway 150 yards from the patio. There were nonstop trucks hauling up and down the steep hill, you can imagine the noise. They also don't show the neighbor across the way with the bright outdoor lights on 24x7, no star watching. "We had a wonderful stay at this charming VRBO. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and also gave us our space. This is a unique place in that there are two small units near to each other. They are not large, but they are well-appointed and we appreciated the modern styling and the lack of trite "Live, Love, Laugh" signage that besets many vacation rentals these days. "The property was really better than good, but not excellent because of the metal spiral staircase. The property is well appointed with all you need in kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were temperapedic style mattress and comfortable. The pillows were not as comfortable. The location is great. The manager was accommodating. I would recommend the home, but with a warning about the staircase."
