6/10 Okay

I go to Black Hawk occasionally to relax and get away; to play and eat and enjoy the noise. I almost always stay at the Horseshoe. Desk staff are friendly, and the casino and Starbucks are convenient. This was not the best stay. Housekeeping ran out of extra blankets for multiple nights. The standard bedding is a bottom sheet topped by two thin sheets with a thin blanket between them, so I always request an extra, and in winter on a cold night, you just need that additional cover unless you want to sleep with the heat blasting. Oh, well. The elevators loudly shriek and clunk, and one elevator stopped working, its doors just opening and closing as if it forgot how to be an elevator. Then, there was a non-issue with my payment method that resulted in me being asked to head back down to the desk after I got to my room. The issue was on the hotel's end, not mine, yet I stood in line for twenty five minutes behind another guest who was experiencing a complicated problem that apparently had no solution. I don't blame the desk staff or housekeeping, but it seems hotel management has a few things that need to be addressed. The price of the stay is affordable, but things could've been better all around. I give The Horseshoe average stars for this particular trip.
