"The hotel is excellent, and the staff was polite. However, even though I am a permanent resident of Japan, they asked to photocopy my Japanese Resident ID card, even after I told him, in polite Japanese, that this was against the law. Also, at check out, while I was waiting in line, two Japanese couples barged in front of me and were attended to first, for no apparent reason. I felt discriminated against, despite speaking the language and living in the country for 27 years."

"This is located high on Bizan Mountain with great views of the city. Our room was spacious with excellent views. The Onsen is particularly relaxing - it is well laid out and the outdoor section allows you to leisurely soak while admiring the view. There are some nice places for walks around the property. "I stayed at hotel Taiyo Noen for one night, after arriving in Tokushima late at night. The staff at the hotel was really nice. Shoutout to the Nepalese gentlemen who spoke English, helped me, and made my stay even better. Breakfast was really delicious and filling. The location is also very convenient. I would stay there again."

"lovely location. breakfast had a huge variety of choices. one small challenge was information. i asked about boat trips, went to the activity desk, who said they weren't running, who sent me back to the front desk, who gave me a bus timetable. every time I asked a question I was handed more paper. this was after a 15 minute long check in where they explained random hotel details. I then had to go to another desk to make dinner reservations - at the hotel. hoping for a bit more...

"The hotel is connected to the Tokushima Station and the Clement Plaza (small shopping center) so it is very convenient. I chose a bigger room and it was really nice, especially the bathroom with a tub that has a city view window (very nice at night).The bus stops are also right outside the main entrance and there are many dining options around the area."

"This hotel is dated and has definitely seen better days. I had a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke :(. However, it was low cost and everything worked. The guy in reception was welcoming and friendly- made a particular effort to explain things, show me the free drinks in reception and hand me a tourist map. Location is walkable from centre (flat walk), but slightly further than ideal. Many dining options easily reached, but don’t expect much English spoken (have a translation app handy)."
