There was no-one staying in the second property by the water but don't think it would have changed our opinion. "We enjoyed our stay at this rustic house in Douro valley. Fatima was very kind and helpful, and took the time to answer all my questions, in spite of having a family emergency. The location is pretty remote, so make sure to pick up groceries and essentials en route. I think a car is a must. The views are spectacular. "A luxurious, spacious, well equipped apartment in characterful building. Beautiful swimming pool and outdoor kitchen and eating area. Views from the property are incredible. "Great property exactly as described, and the setting and views were just the best! The local town 20 mins drive on the river is Amarante and it stole our hearts. The drive straight down the mountain to a slightly closer town Celorico de Basto is not for the faint hearted, and was not repeated. The TV was in French which was a bonus as we don't speak Portugese.
