"It is a sort of tower. Under-lighted. Nice. Strange. Management (nice young woman) next door in a wine shop. She’s very helpful. You are kind of on your own in many ways. All uphill from the train station, so leaving is easy. You don’t have to fight gravity when returning to the station."

"This is a beautiful, but old building, with spacious rooms, a and high ceilings. But it is dark. Only one window that does not let in much light. So used our lights a lot. The property is in Trastevere, which is popular and busy, but our room was really quiet. The front desk/proprietor was extremely helpful in making a restaurant reservation and booking a car to the airport."

"The host is excellent, the property is wonderful, spacious parking for six vehicles inside an anient iron and brick fence, ancient house with gorgeous and spacious interior, high ceilings, balcony with a spectacular view of the Tuscany countryside, and a fourteen minute drive from paid parking in the historic city center of Siena. "It felt like motel next to a highway. Reception closes at 7pm so I was a bit rushed to check in quickly. After that the lights are switched off and the hotel basically becomes dark - just like the surroundings. Off season most restaurants are closed. The room was generally clean but there were little blood stains and spots on the bed linen. The duvet was simply covered by bed linen and it did not feel very hygienic. Generally I expected more from the property given excellent rankings but...
