"Loved my stay at Crandell. Yes, the rooms are on the small side, yes the deck needs to be painted, yes it’s not the most soundproof hotel, none of that bothered me. I knew that I was going to be staying in the off season so there were less people staying at the lodge and I didn’t have to worry about too much noise, there was always parking and I was always able to get a seat at the three restaurants that are still open this time of year (2 at Kilmorey across the street and the Italian restaurant 3 blocks away at Glacier Suites). I also didn’t have to fight for parking spots at the local popular trailheads. Things I loved about Crandell Mountain Lodge and why I would definitely stay there again: - Because you check in at Kilmorey across the street, there is no lobby or people to watch you come and go. It’s an apartment style lodge built in the 40s and, other than the other guests coming and going staying in your section, you may not see anyone else. It feels more like a private living space. - Location was awesome. - The pub and lamppost restaurant are right across the street and have very good food. The bison blue cheese burger and the chicken pot pie was the best pot pie I’ve ever had. - Appreciated the little things like some great caffeine free options for tea along with the traditional in room caffeinated tea and coffee choices. - the soak tub for my salt bath after a long hike. - no tv but WiFi worked great so I could stream without issues. "

"The main great room/lobby of this old historic hotel is pretty much worth it all. Spectacular views and a comfy relaxing atmosphere. The room itself was meh. But it is historic so that’s part of the deal. The point is to spend your evenings down in the great room that is equipped with many chairs, sofas and tables for reading, playing cards, having a drink and looking out at the amazing scenery. There is a good restaurant right off the lobby and also a really nice bar where you can have lunch, dinner or a snack. There is a snack/gift shop open too 9pm where they will make you a speciality coffee. It’s way in the back of the shop so look for it or ask. "
