Always dirty dishes, dirty pots, dirty glasses, etc. Room was comfortable, bit put together with old furniture. For the cost, I guess is OK, but a little scrubbing goes a long way specially the kitchen. Or just keep kitchen out of the offering."

"I stayed 3 nights in this lovely public house (the Sun Inn, Acomb). It didn't have big town amenities, but it was fine for me as I wanted to visit and walk parts of Hadrians Wall. The couple running this enterprise had only taken it over about a month before I stayed, but I think they are doing it brilliantly. A nice atmosphere in the bar. Good choice of breakfast - which was delicious. A small menu for evening food - I tried one of the pasta dishes - again delicious. No car park, but...

"Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. "This is an amazing B&B that you can use as a base for exploring Hadrian's Wall. Brain & Gill are great hosts. The room is great with a kettle, tea and coffee. Breakfast is self-service, and you have a nice selection of cereals, fruit, juice, milk, bread, coffee, and tea. All that you need to get started. You can use the kitchen later in the day if you want to cook your own meals instead of the outside option. Fully recommend. "
