"Incredible facilities, rooms are cleaned really well, staff are always very attentive. To be able to access the grotta is a real highlight, it's an incredible place, much bigger than expected and the facilities are again outstanding. Spa had a lot of choice, the outdoor swimming pools were unexpected given we visited in December and it was never too busy, often it was just us. There are also lots of hiking options from just next to the property, starting from inside the hotel grounds. "

"This is a beautiful hotel, easily accessed by one of the portals to the city. There is limited parking available on site. The lobby and breakfast area are lovely, Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the family rooms and it was large, comfortable, well decorated, quiet, and a short walk from the main hotel. We used the bikes cycling on the city walls; it was super convenient to have those on site. I would highly recommend this hotel for families."

"Decided to stay here because of the 5 star reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Yes it’s the opposite side of Lucca to the train station and outside the city walls but it was only a 30 minute walk because Lucca is so tiny. Gave me the opportunity to get my bearings. And only a 5 minute walk back to the wall. Was able to check in just after 11am. Room was huge as was the bathroom & both immaculately clean. And there was a kettle! Breakfast was fantastic and laid out with great care. Lovely...

I want to give the hotel and location great raves though i would prefer it to be the best kept secret. Wonderful medieval village and concierge Simon could not be more helpful. What a gentleman! "Room was entirely too small and was the only one between floors. You had to take an elevator and still walk up or down a flight of stairs. The only window looked out over a set of outside steps that were being used so no privacy. The bathroom was really dark and there was at least one light out in the bathroom. Very disappointing. "

"I got really lost finding the right bus and Giacomo was really helpful and eventually came to pick me up in his car, which was fabulous as I was tired and with a big bag. The house is a lovely old house and the room was clean and perfect with an ensuite. Giacomo gave me information about where to go to eat and I went to Leo’s nearby where they cut slices of pizza at whatever size you like which is a great idea. The breakfast was nice and a range of things that you can order the night...

The area was really good, plenty of nice restaurants & cafes. Train stations in walking distance. Plenty of shops around. Had breakfast in cafe next door Cafe Salute, croissants and drink for around £3, excellent value"
