"Hotel Ilaria is a lovely hotel in the cute town of Lucca. It is quiet, clean and comfortable with a perfect location for exploring the town. Breakfast was delicious with lots of healthy options in addition to typical Italian pastries. The evening complimentary happy hour was wonderful. I met some lovely fellow travelers and had a great time. The best part of the hotel is the staff. The young man at the front desk was extremely kind and welcoming. He helped me purchase tickets to an evening of opera as part of the Puccini festival. It was wonderful. This one staff member (apologies that I didn’t write down his name) made my stay extra special with his kindness. And he looked great in the green hotel uniform suit (as did the young woman too). Thank you for making me feel that hotel Ilaria in Lucca was my home away from home. "

"A fabulous place to stay with a fabulous staff a beautiful view of breakfast second to none. Just an amazing experience. If you’re traveling to Sienna you need to stay here. Don’t even look anywhere else. Just stay here. It’s the nicest place around. The property is gorgeous. The rooms are amazing Fabulous place. "If you are arriving/departing by train (Lucca) this is an excellent location as Hotel Rex is a couple of minutes walk away. The hotel is also very close to the city's renaissance walls. The hotel has whimsical decorations, a place for children to play, and a good breakfast. A table outside of our room had biscuits on it. I'm pretty sure other rooms had the same treat. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Outside the property was road construction, but it was not noisy. "

"Beautiful refurbished older mansion turned into a charming B&B. The on site secure parking was a big plus. The entire team attending to guests was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone always shared a warm smile and sincere greeting. Staff was at the ready with suggestions and helpful advice. Excellent coffee at breakfast. We stayed in the Puccini suite which had a balcony overlooking Viale G. Puccini. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Elevator for those requiring a lift. The location is very near Lucca's walled old town. You could drive (best to avoid that option unless you must), bus, or if you wish to get in a few extra steps, an easy 15 minute walk will get you to the Porta Sant'Ana entrance. There are some dining options in the neighborhood as well. Be aware that on Saturdays there is a mercato that sets up in front of the property and goes all day. You will want to move your vehicle to a side street the night before or risk not being able to drive off property. We were kindly given a heads up. Highly recommended. "
