"We only stayed one night but found the hotel delightful. We had stayed before but it was approaching 20 years ago. It was good then, but has been improved with well appointed rooms and a new conservatory restaurant overlooking the gardens which are alongside the River Rothay. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was of a good standard too. "

"Nice hotel right on the shores of Lake Windermere with boat rides within 2 minutes walk. Onsight restaurant and bar and lovely comfortable rooms. Even tough our room was beside a road it was very quiet. Also a leisurely 20 minute walk into Ambleside town"

"Beautiful location on a lake, lovely grassed area with chairs & lounges on the terrace. Scrumptious continental and cooked breakfast. Had a peaceful lounge/bar where you could order food. Also a spa pool, sauna & steam room free for guests, paid treatments available. "
