"Myself and my wife loved staying here it was a beautiful guest house very traditional. We were visiting family so found tbe guest house to be very convenient . If i had to moan about anything it would be the thin walls between the rooms we could here the couple in the next room very clearly which was a little annoying at times but usually only when we wanted to sleep. And again its a very small moan becuase they may of been loud people. The breakfast was great and Siri the cat kept us company at times. The whole place was immaculate and everything had been thought of including the honesty bar which was a nice touch. I would suggest maybe adding some snacks to this as well. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone thinking of staying in Amarante. We will be back. Thank you "

"This house was really unique for us for its rustic look and use of natural materials. The beds were comfortable, and there was so much space to relax including huge patio and cozy living room. It might be a bit out of the way from the main road, but it made it feel like a country escape. We had a great time."

"Very spacious. We had a patio back and front where we could enjoy the scenery. We felt like we were at home. Very comfortable. Our host peter welcomed us when we arrived. He always made sure we had everything we needed. Gave us lots of tips about what to visit in the area. "

"Covelo-Original is exactly what a small guesthouse should be. Our stay was perfect. The Covelo is in the heart of old town and steps away from restaurants and just over the bridge is the religious centre. The room had everything needed (fridge, kettle, coffeemaker, all of which aren’t common in a POR room). The bed was incredibly comfortable and the building has been renovated and modernized yet maintains both original and quirky charm. Staff are amazing and they go the extra step providing handy local info. They even go so far as providing a WhatsApp contact should help be required “after hours”. I highly recommend The Covelo, one of the best guesthouses I have ever visited. "

"We stayed with two couples for 14 days at this lovely house. Olga and Paulo were fabulous hosts and gave us countless of wonderful tips on what to do and where to eat. Communication was flawless. Check in was easy and Paulo greeted us with a bottle of wine and fresh pastry specific to the region. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. AC in the two master bedrooms, the LR, and the DR was appreciated. As a pleasant surprise we had a house cleaning and fresh bed sheets after one week. The garden is beautiful and outdoor furniture invite to lounge and hang out. The house is located on a small road, however the amount of traffic surprised us. Lidl in Amarante (10 min drive) was convenient and we fell in love with this beautiful town. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to explore the Douro Valley and Porto region. "We would like to start off by saying that Bernardo, our host, could not be more welcoming and accommodating! From the beginning to the end of our one week stay he made us feel at home. The warmth of his hospitality could be felt immediately. The home was extremely clean and had every amenity for our stay. Everything from the numerous fruit trees to the "outside backyard kitchen" and pool made our stay one of the most relaxing vacations that we've had in years!
