"This house was really unique for us for its rustic look and use of natural materials. The beds were comfortable, and there was so much space to relax including huge patio and cozy living room. It might be a bit out of the way from the main road, but it made it feel like a country escape. We had a great time."

"The staff and service is excellent. The individual rooms are a distance away from the lobby/restaurant, which I didn’t like so much. That, however, is secondary to the excellent staff and the large comfortable rooms. The wine tasting was extremely well done."

"This is a beautiful location in the hills accessible to Porto. Spacious property. We appreciated the decent-sized pool, the fruit trees and the games room. Communication with the owners was excellent and Miguel was always very helpful. The property is15+ minutes walk to the train station. Bolt taxis are not expensive. So we found this worked well without hiring a car. Lovely holiday."

"I want to point out that the only thing positive in our stay was the sympathy of the staff, all the other areas didn't go well. First of all, they gave us an accessible room that was not shown in the photos, whenever I went to the bathroom it looked like I was in a hospital. The floor had stains all over the carpet and the AC didn't work. Don't recommend it. "

"We stayed with two couples for 14 days at this lovely house. Olga and Paulo were fabulous hosts and gave us countless of wonderful tips on what to do and where to eat. Communication was flawless. Check in was easy and Paulo greeted us with a bottle of wine and fresh pastry specific to the region. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. AC in the two master bedrooms, the LR, and the DR was appreciated. As a pleasant surprise we had a house cleaning and fresh bed sheets after one week. The garden is beautiful and outdoor furniture invite to lounge and hang out. The house is located on a small road, however the amount of traffic surprised us. Lidl in Amarante (10 min drive) was convenient and we fell in love with this beautiful town. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to explore the Douro Valley and Porto region. "We would like to start off by saying that Bernardo, our host, could not be more welcoming and accommodating! From the beginning to the end of our one week stay he made us feel at home. The warmth of his hospitality could be felt immediately. The home was extremely clean and had every amenity for our stay. Everything from the numerous fruit trees to the "outside backyard kitchen" and pool made our stay one of the most relaxing vacations that we've had in years! Thank you Bernardo for helping make this a vacation one that we will remember for years! Oh and the daily morning fresh bread delivery was a treat..."
