"This is a beautiful, peaceful property. We enjoyed the huge rooms, gorgeous dining room, and decent gym. The spa consisted of a small sauna and steam room (which we could not open, and there was no one working there to open it). But it was very difficult to find, as the Expedia address took us to a house 15 minutes away. We had to put the name of the hotel into Google to find it, but there was no sign at the front of the property, which just looks like a house from the road, so it was all very...

"Staying here was restful, and very peaceful. Perfect! We enjoyed the privacy of the location. The generous breakfast, and attention to details. It is centrally located to the area sights we wanted to see. It was lovely to have the vineyards to walk through, beautiful views of the river Douro. Definitely recommended!"

"Located on a beautiful vineyard which started as a monastery 500 years ago. We walked the entire property and it was the highlight of our trip. "

"Large property with extensive gardens, providing everything you could want on holiday. Content to sit by the window and watch the boats going up and down the river, very relaxing. Lovely pool, although sadly unable to use it because of the weather. Tiago was very helpful and responded immediately to any queries. Would thoroughly recommend!"

"Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. "The hotel is located in a nice location, which is walkable to major attractions. Everything about the hotel was great. The bed was super comfortable. The only potential issue is that the room air circulation is either not on or not the best. So when opening the door, it can become noisy due to street car or motorcycle. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much."

"The hotel is well located, very close to Centro Historico. It’s easy to get there from the airport by metro or by taxi. It’s very clean, the staff is extremely helpful. The beds are big and pretty comfortable. Room service is doing magnificent job. I would definitely stay here again. "
