"I had a single room and, as usual, for most single travellers, it was tucked away as an afterthought. I understand that the integrity of the building needs to be maintained but there was a massive crack in the upper pane of the window in the bedroom and a gap between the sashes that let in blasts of cold air. The window in the bedroom also had a gap between sashes that I could put my hand through and it didn't seem possible to close the windows. There was also a very large crack in the bathroom sink. I know everyone is economising but one sachet of caffeinated coffee in the room - seriously. I loved the hotel and the position but wouldn't want to stay again if being a solo traveller felt like being a second. Lass citizen. The reception staff were very friendly & helpful. Thank you "

"Lovely place, large bar/dining area, private function room available, good food & drink options. Hotel rooms were clean & tidy but a little on the cold side (so do turn up the heating). A fabulous real fire in the bar area that was the best warm welcome after braving the baltic weather outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay again, a good price that included breakfast 👍"

"Only fault we had during our stay was the heating on all the time. It was 2° outside but had trouble sleeping as was so warm. Apart from that the service & room was perfect for our stay. Will definitely stay again."

"Very comfortable room, has ironing board and a "pants" press, which I disnt use but shows level of room. Hotel lobby and inside areas as well as surrounding grounds out of a movie set. Staff friendly and helpful when needed. Restaurant meals good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended for short or long stay."

"Second time staying at this hotel for the city’s annual art and comic festival. The Hotel is across the road from the event, making it ideal for the weekends happenings. Rooms are clean and well kept. We found it had everything we needed for our short stay. Plenty of hot water and amenities. Breakfast was excellent, well stocked and well organised. The staff were always polite and helpful. We will be returning for sure. Only issues are that a bar/club venue next door can play music into the late hours. Making early nights difficult. Not sure what can be done about that. If you’re on the other side of the building it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Also the reception is actually one side of the main bar, this can be difficult on busy Saturday nights when it’s busy."
