The dirt path towards the house needs work otherwise your car could get stuck. definitely need a 4 wheeler vehicle. We saw monkeys and toucans in the morning. Very calm and quiet stay it was. "Unfortunately, when we arrived at the property - around 5 p.m., it was to discover that, in spite of our reservation, there were no rooms available. The manager/owner was very apologetic for the mix-up and made several calls to secure alternate accomodation for us. However, that was more expensive and we needed to move from one place to another to cover our 4 day stay with 2 nights in each place. It was pretty disappointing!"

"If you value privacy and respect this is NOT the place for you. The Good: our family thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal area. Los Lagos was great for kids and adults. Hot springs,water slides and lunch, all for 100 bucks US. It’s a must visit. The area is gorgeous, if you have an extra couple of days it’s a great way to end your trip before flying home.The bad: This is ALL true.
