"Beautiful house from the mid-1930’s filled with wonderful artifacts and Hawaiiana. Nice kitchen area for in home cooking - pots pans rice cooker etc- Comfynooks for relaxing- great wrap around deck with lounge chairs and a dining table! The garden is lush and creative. There are many cocqui frogs at night so if that bothers you, there is even ears plugs! Our only negative was that due to a plumbing issue my husband could not soak in the tub (for his degenerative disk) altho the shower worked...

"We had a great stay at Terry's place. The location was perfect for our itinerary, and the view is divine. We loved sitting on the lanai with our morning coffee, looking out over Carlsmith Beach Park. We found everything we needed for our week on the Big Island, including a cooler to take picnic lunches with us, folding chairs that came in really handy, and snorkeling gear and beach towels. "All app check in easy. Had to call to find out the parking spot. Thought I saw in a text but couldn't find when needed. The lock box was a mystery. I didn't know the code for theor how to open it. "Overall it was a good experience for the price. No frills accomodations that are adequate for a good night's sleep. The property has good potential and it appears they are working on improving the overall facility with some remodeling. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It felt safe and was overall a good resting place for the night."

"All staff were welcoming and helpful. It was nice having a fridge, microwave and sink to be able to eat in at times. Laundry facilities were available. I'd go for a dip in the ocean right next door and then hop into the pool. Very relaxing. Ask for a room, second floor, overlooking the pool as this gives you a nice view of the ocean as well. Very good location in Hilo "

Packed with enchanting details

"This rental made such good use of the one-acre lot - we enjoyed the mirthful pool and garden area, the garden, ocean and starlight views from an assortment of decks, lanais and gazebos. We felt like we hardly had to leave the property. But just a few minutes up the road were rocky beaches for whale-viewing, bamboo forests with waterfalls, and a cascading stream with refreshing swimming holes. Cannot wait to return to Honomu House."
