Breakfast wasn't the highest quality but the food in the bar and restaurant was otherwise excellent and very good value. Pool was nice. "We had a great experience at Hotel Gaivota. It was a really convenient base location to explore Sao Miguel, really clean and comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. Lots to do in the immediate area, and the parking garage right across the street was really convenient for us."

"The property has stunning ocean views. Looked like every room had a balcony facing the ocean and cliff. Simply gorgeous. Staff was very kind, informative, and accommodating. Food left something to be desired, but if you're staying here, you probably rented a car and can head into town to eat in Agua de Pau or further afield to Ponta Delgada. I recommend this place to travelers and nature lovers, as it's more centrally located on the island than Ponta Delgada, more away from the crowds, and offers a more peaceful experience. "

"We had an amazing stay at White from Jan 31st to Feb 4th. The service was excellent. We were provided with a mobile phone to communicate with the hotel staff when off the property. The included breakfasts were delicious. The ocean view from our room was stunning and the sound of the waves had us very relaxed."
