"We stayed at Fairmont Chateau Laurier on my husband’s birthday. Before our arrival, I emailed the hotel that we’re celebrating a special occasion, and I received a prompt response that our room will be upgraded to a deluxe one. During our stay we were also given a complimentary drink at Zoe’s lounge. These gestures are really appreciated. Another plus points for the hotel is the staff, who are friendly and accommodating. Although, there was a delay when we check in; we requested an early check in but even after going back to the hotel after 4PM, there was still no room assigned to us. Although the room is really spacious and clean, I noticed that the bathroom show signs that it needs some TLC soon. Moreover, one of the advantages of staying at Chateau Laurier is the location. All the major tourist spots are walking distance. ByWard Market is just across the steeet so the food options are abundant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Fairmont Chateau Laurier and will still choose to stay here in our future visit to Ottawa. "
