Things to note: bed spaces can be a bit small depending on which room/arrangement and in room space for luggage/clothes drying may be limited. Overall, great place to stay, easy to meet people in lobby, convenient conbinis (7-11, Family Mart) and walking distance to well rated restaurants e.g. Ramai Sapporo Chuo, Ramen spots and Sandria (24/7 Sandwich Spot). "Nice, clean hostel with a couple of private rooms. Rooms are basic, but s good value for the price. Of note, the private rooms are on the fifth floor accessible by a steep, narrow staircase - we needed to repack ski bags for our flight the next morning and it was a struggle to get them to our room. Great restaurant on the first floor."

"Nice hostel in Otaru! Owners are friendly and willing to help out any questions you may have. No kerosene heaters required although there was a small one in my room that I used for a nightstand, not sure why it was there because there was also a wall mounted modern Hitachi ac/heater unit that was quiet and worked perfectly. This was my first hostel stay so the only thing I needed was a larger bath towel that was easily purchased a short walk away. Will be back!"

"The staff were amazing! Best price in town. We took the shuttle every morning and then walked back after skiing. The breakfast was free and I decided to skip it but the Ramon restaurant at night was really tasty. Our skis were safe and in a warmed locker. Really wonderful overall."
