"We loved our stay. It was comfortable and spacious and we wish we could have stayed longer. Check-in and out were very easy. It was very clean and so beautiful. The area is a little more out of the way than it appears so don’t expect to use this location as a hub for sightseeing, especially because Kyoto’s transit system isn’t as robust. That being said, you won’t really want to leave the room. "

"Our stay was wonderful. Everybody was very welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect for what we wanted. Located in a quiet neighborhood with access to lots of shrines, temples, restaurants, subway, grocery store. "lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. "The ryokan was definitely traditional. It was a wonderful experience, and the duvet was the most comfortable thing for the cold winter nights. We used the private open-air bath twice, once with sudden notice. The hotel staff were still happy to accommodate us despite the hour, and they were overall very kind about everything. "The room was very well-prepared and the owner is kind and helpful, and seems like she has some interesting stories to tell. I was hoping the bar would be a gathering spot for all the guests, but I never saw it open (appears to be by reservation?) That we were encouraged to return by 9 PM was also a bit onerous (given it is 30 minutes from the city centre), but an understandable part of the guesthouse experience."

"It is close to a JR station and a metro station, convenient to get around Osaka and to places outside Osaka. The area is also quiet, the room is clean and appliances provided were thoughtful and useful. There are also food places nearby. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again."

"Honestly the place was decent. It wasn't amazing but it was comfortable. I personally enjoy the access method they have to the hotel since all you need is the code but I did notice quite a few people in the lobby struggling. Also didn't enjoy how open the locker room was especially since it wasn't really a locker room but a storage closet where everyone with the entrance code could come in and access other people's luggage. There were these bike locks essentially but they weren't the most secure...
