"Location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from the station and chair lift. Kitchen staff is very thoughtful. I stayed for 3 nights, although all 3 nights were hot pot for dinner with the same ingredients, the soup base was different for every night. Staff are super friendly, making you feel welcome. The only issue I had was on the first night when there kids staying and they ran around the whole lodge making all sort of noise until late."

To avoid an absurd taxi fare, catch the local train to Shiozawa and arrange for the property owner to pick you up at the station. That aside, the property itself is very basic, but also charming. Owner is absolutely lovely. Location has outstanding views, and the back of the building directly faces a ski lift. As long as you're not expecting much from the place, it is more than sufficient for a quick stay."

"It was great experience staying at this place. Right after we went to gala Yuzawa ski came back to the hotel and dipped ourselves into the large Ofuro in the basement. Smoking was not allowed inside or well outside the house so it was the only problem me and my friends faced during the stay but all in all we enjoyed our stay at the place. Place is warm and cozy. Recommend for friends and family or in groups over 5 people. "
