"Expensive room for what it was. Dead cockroaches on the floor. Massive ants too. Couldn't close 1 of the windows cos it was wired open so was eaten by mossies all night. The front gate was padlocked which is good for safety (on the edge of a sketchy area) but couldn't get out in the morning and no one to be seen. Not usually a hater and have stayed in some dodgy places without criticism before but people should know that it's not too great"

"The location is in a really safe area which was nice and I appreciated that. That being said, the TV didn't work properly, all of the lights flickered badly, all of the sinks leaked badly to the point where they nearly didn't work, and the whole room smelled like cigarettes. "A friend of mine and myself were really satisfied with our stay at Okupe Hostel. The common area is really nice and very social. Thanks to events that are set up it's easy to sozialise with other people. The location is perfect, Jardins is an amazing part of sao Paulo and there are some nice shops and coffees in walkable distance. We were most amazed by the friendliness of the employes at Okupe Hostel."

"We have been staying at the Astron Garden Special for around 20 years. In this recent stay we found that while the staff continues to be great and very helpful, there were things broken in the two rooms we had (window handles, soap dishes, furniture, etc). While at one point in time this was a boutique hotel, it is now past its prime and in need of a major upgrade.
