"Fond Doux Resort is an absolute gem and we enjoyed it so much more than anticipated! From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by the most beautiful, untouched nature. The sounds of birds, tree frogs, and rustling leaves were constant companions, making it feel like I was truly immersed in the rainforest. Everywhere I turned, there were towering trees, colorful flowers, and fruit hanging from branches—it felt so alive and vibrant. We stayed in the cottage furthest away, which meant walking through the forest and up a series of stairs to get there. At first, we thought it might get tiring, but honestly, it was magical every single time. I found myself wishing I could do that walk every day—again and again—because it made me feel so connected to the nature around me. Our cottage was so private, and so many birds came to visit, almost like they were just as curious about us as we were about them! We also loved spending time at the pool, soaking in the beautiful views and just enjoying the peacefulness of the resort. I was truly so sad to leave. In fact, before checking out, I even walked back up to our cottage one last time, just to see it again and take in the moment. If you love nature, the sounds of the rainforest and want an authentic St. Lucian experience, Fond Doux is the place to be!! I absolutely loved my stay and I shall cherish my time there. Thank you!! "Secluded property on the small plantation. More than a hundred yes old, but Very well maintained. People who manage and work on the farm are amazing, very polite, knowledgable about the property and the surrounding nature. There is no AC, but none is needed since it’s actually gets pretty cold, at night, due to the altitude, and we are in the dry season now. Breakfast ($25pp) or/and dinner($45pp) can be requested and is very fulfilling. You can pick grapefruits, oranges, lemons straight from the trees around the house. "

"Words can’t describe how wonderful our stay was at Hermitage Jewel. It was a little slice of Heaven! I believe it is the best view you can get on the island. We ate dinner at resort restaurant Hotel Chocolate, and Dashene at Ladera resort, and the view from Hermitage beat them both!We felt blessed to wake up every morning to view the magnificent Pitons. Tamara and Cletus were the most fabulous hosts, and they instantly made us feel welcomed- they were like family. Tamara made us a delicious home cooked meal the night we arrived which included a tasty rum punch. Her breakfasts every morning were such a treat- must ask for her homemade lemonade and her fruit smoothie. But what we really enjoyed was her company!We did not rent a car, and we were lucky enough to have Super Dave be our driver to anywhere we wanted to go. He was always at our disposal and took us on many excursions like the Mud baths, the Torlaine Falls, the Diamond Falls, the Tet Paul Hike, and to The Beacon restaurant with a beautiful view of the Pitons and town below. We felt nothing but peace and tranquillity our entire stay. One of our favorite things was falling asleep to the sounds of the frogs croaking and the breeze blowing.Hermitage Jewel is a super special place in a super special country. It is a trip we will never forget!"

"Amazing! Truly on top of a mountain! Open air with plenty of wind. Rain mostly at night but short bursts days. Some bugs but nothing major. The driving is a bit hair raising but you get used to it quickly. We kept busy with adventures in and around Souxfriere daily. 3 great restaurant meals and 2 cooked by Mary. I can’t say enough about Mary/cook, brother Greg/Jack of all trades, Larry/driver for dinner twice, and the extended family who helped with our 2 dinners. They all were friendly and so helpful connecting us with others. The beach at Sugar Beach resort is fantastic. Restroom and bar all open to us. The drive down is steep but worth it.Kermit was incredibly helpful with info and we did almost everything he suggested. Would definitely return!"
