"Absolutely beautiful. We stayed for two nights and wish we could've stayed three. The staff are wonderful; The restaurant has delicious food; the gardens are beautiful; the pool and hot tub area is so relaxing and the views are incredible. It is an absolute gem of a spot."

"For our 1st anniversary we wanted to visit the beautiful Lake Atitlan in Guatemala & this hotel made this adventure feel over the top luxurious. While the hotel & views are hard to beat, the hotel team that worked every day to give us moments of delight throughout our stay, were the true unique component of this stay. From an easel/paint/canvas waiting for us in our room to paint the beautiful views, to the turn down service with a unique gift each time, but more than that was the friendly and helpful nature of all of the staff was incredible. They arranged a private boat driver for us to go to San Juan & San Marcos. It was definitely worth the elevated price to not be on a tight schedule & get to explore as much as we wanted & leave as soon as we wanted to make the most of our day. Skip going to San Marcos but DEFINITELY visit San Juan!! We also walked from Hotel Casa Palopo to the town of Santa Caterina which allowed us to explore the everyday lifestyle of the community. We also recommend going up to the infinity pool at Hotel Casa Palopo for the days you just want to relax & for sunsets! We did the traditional route of ground van transportation lined up by Hotel Casa Palopo, but when we learned about the hotel having two helipads, we found GuataFlights and HIGHLY recommend them for a much faster transportation to Antigua (10 min) or the GUA airport (25 min). Make sure to eat and lakeside restaurant, Kinnik. The BEST! Can't tell - I recommend you stay here. We will be back."

"I love the location, convenience and atmosphere - quiet, beautiful garden setting with spa setting in back. Only draw back is the room was not well-lit. Overhead lights, designed for two bulbs, only had one. We asked for another bulb, maintenance was sent. At first he said he did not have the "tools" to replace bulb. DUH. We showed him they covers come off by hand turning a small know. He then said he did not have authorization to add a second bulb. Seemed a little petty to scrimp on the bulb and electricity. Charge me an extra dollar a night so I can see in the dark corners of the room."

"Very charming hotel overlooking the lake. Lovely landscaping made for beautiful outdoor spaces to lie in a hammock, sit by the water, etc. Our room was clean and nice, but the bathroom and sheets could have been better. Breakfast was good - you get some options of traditional Guatemalan, more American style, pancakes, yogurt/granola etc. It is built into the hillside over the lake so there is some walking up and down to get around, but the staff kindly helped us with our luggage. No TVs in our room so would recommend bringing books / a deck of cards. We enjoyed using the free kayaks but were a little disappointed the hot tub was an additional charge. The area is in between San Juan and San Pedro - it's an easy walk into San Juan by a path down by the water, and easy to walk into San Pedro too but it's along a main road without sidewalks. Tuktuks are cheap and easy ways to get around, as are water taxis."
