"The hotel was alright. We spent only a night. We came in at 11 pm. Checking in took a tad longer than we are used to. The bathroom definitely needed better cleaning as the shower area had molds. The faucet in the bathroom was not well placed. Every time we tried to use the faucet, it caused the water to spill all over. We went to the breakfast area at 9.15 and already the orange juice was finished. I requested the staff to replenish it, but it fell on deaf ears."

"This is a unique place to stay in Edinburgh, it is a boat once owned by a member of the Guinness family, now refurbished with a huge amount of love and pride and run as a hotel. Our flight was delayed so it was almost 10 pm when we arrived, but Alfonso, who greeted us, very kindly phoned the pub opposite, the Ship on the Shore, and persuaded them to feed us, even though the kitchen was about to close. "Hotel was easy to find and approximately 10 minute walk from the tram station which takes you into the city centre or to the airport. Room was clean and comfortable however the walls are very thin and as such this makes for a noisy atmosphere. We could hear people coming in late at night and leaving early in the morning. However this was my only real problem with the hotel. Decent for price. "

"We stayed one of the ensuite rooms with vaulted ceilings and a dormer window- you just need to remember to duck ocasionaly. It's on the second floor so you need to allow for this, not a problem for most people. We were surprised how much space there was and the view over the park was lovely. The location in Leith is much closer to the city centre than it may appear as the regular (2-10 mins wait) new tram line whooshes you to the centre in 5-15 minutes.
