"Very honest review: this is one of the most affordable stays in Oceanside Kona. Our hotel attendant, Harrison, went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and convenient. 5 stars for staff and service! The room was quaint but had necessary utilities including a spacious shower a king size bed coffee maker toaster dishes and a fan. Not having a/c was the biggest drawback, but was not a dealbreaker. "Great location right on the ocean front. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Charming gardens and pool overlooking the sea. They are in the middle of painting one wing which wasn't particularly disruptive. The rooms are a bit dated but the view from the balcony and the very atmospheric bar make up for what the rooms lack. On Thursdays the bar hosts local Hawaiian musicians which is really nice."

"My stay at Kona Islander Inn has been nice, and it's ongoing .. I had to switch condo units yesterday because the first one was prebooked. The community is in a perfect location to most activities in Kona, and the shops are close by for groceries. There's a nice pool area, a welcoming lounge, and laundry facilities. Paradise everyday! "BEAUTIFUL!!! We decided on a last minute trip to the Big Island. We didnt really want to stay at a resort. So glad we came across Gingerhilll Farm Retreat. We stayed in Monkey Tree tent. The bed was so comfortable. Probably the best bed ive ever slept in besides our home one. We live on a farm so this place was a littler more noisy for us. Lots of frogs going off and a very abnoxious rooster that i feel needs to go in a stew pot.or be moved away from all the cabins. He starts crowing around...

"This is the third year my boyfriend and I have stayed in this place and it has been wonderful every year and this year was no different.The location is perfect, close enough to walk downtown and far enough to be quiet. Comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay."

Kona Reef, A Raintree Vacation Club Resort

"The pool and hot tub are perfect when the beach doesn’t work out. However there is a little beach located right next to the property that doesn’t seem too busy most of the time. The only thing is that there isn’t a whole lot of necessity items in the unit itself. There is no seasoning or PAM or condiments or ziploc bags and very little cooking utensils and pots/pans. But the overall cleanliness and comfort was fantastic! It was a little tight for 4 people (2 adults and 2 teens) but not bad if you aren’t planning on staying inside a lot during your trip. Overall this is a fantastic place to stay!"

"This was such a wonderful home for our vacation and exploration of Big Island. Was a shirt drive to scuba docks, snorkeling beaches, etc and then a short walk into town for delicious food and drinks!The community of residents are nice, clean, and friendly if your enjoying the pool or beach. The best time

"We had an incredible time at this condo right in Kailua-Kona. The condo was in excellent condition, clean, and fully stocked with all kinds of extra’s. The view from the lanai was spectacular! I shot sunset photos from there every night and didn’t even have to Go down to the main beach area. Also the microwave stopped heating so I contacted the owner of the unit and she had it replaced within an hour! I’d definitely rent this unit again. "

"You can’t beat the location of this property. Staying right on the shore made this trip special. We did not have to go anywhere to enjoy great views and sunsets, yet many good restaurants (Fletcher’s Kitchen and Huggo’s On The Rocks) are an easy walk, as is town."
