"Rooms were very clean and adequate. Rooms warm during a cold January stay. Cooked breakfast was great. Hostess Caroline was a delight. Flat 10 minute walk to city gate (see photo). So no need to park closer unless you have a walking disability. Very desirable location. The only thing that would have made it better was to let customers know in advance that parking is £12.50 @ night. No nearby free parking in sight. Don’t hesitate to stay here. "

"The single room was comfortable, clean and pleasant. It had tea making facilities, a hair drier and iron. The en suite was of a good size and private. The only draw back was the shower - it had little water pressure and the shower hose was a poor fit. "Absolutely fantastic! Hosts Paul and Fiona were amazing from the moment we arrived. We got there early as planned, and Paul kindly guided us into the free parking at the back of the hotel. The room was lovely, complete with a selection of chocolates and treats available on an honesty system. And the breakfast was simply outstanding!
