"A brief but very pleasant stay! I slept over before a trail marathon the early the next morning in Grizedale Forest. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered to run me down to the start line, I needed my car, but that was very kind! They supplied me with coffee at 6:15am made my porridge and provided a a take away sausage sarnie which I ate when I finished the race and was like heaven at that point! "Can't praise the staff enough, helpful, friendly, accomodating, and the room was lovely. We both had the full English breakfast which was superbly cooked and high quality, and check in was easy and convenient. The only downside was that the mattress was just too firm for both myself and my wife which lead to a quite uncomfortable nights sleep, the staff kindly offered to switch rooms however they all have the same mattress on the beds so this wouldn't have improved the situation, and we decided...

"Lovely BnB. Darren couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. The room was clean, bed was huge and very comfy. Shower was lovely and the breakfast was very very good. The village is so beautiful and only a short drive from Ambleside. We stayed 2 nights, but after arriving very late and leaving early we only had 1 day to see as much as possible and Darren gave us great recommendations. I loved my stay here."
