"It has a "loving" lived-in feel. All the classy 2 closets, large bath, sky-lit design of the 2000s. It has a life to it, you can feel that people enjoyed this house, grandpa and grandma lived here when they were young. Now the family lives next door - I hope they don't mind me mentioning this because it made me feel safe knowing they were right next door in a place where there is no cell signal. There is a jacuzzi inside that I didn't use this time. Now a hut tub in the back would be perfection... Maybe some day. 😉 Also, please provide a water filter jug and some dry coffee creamer... these little things MEAN A LOT to a tired traveler when you're out of signal and a decent drive from the closest store. "

"This is a charming place to stay. Note that the building is old - built from redwoods and insulated with redwood sawdust - so you can hear everything. I slept with earplugs and over-ear headphones playing soft music and had an excellent night sleep - best of my trip. Somehow they have managed to have beds that are very soft, but it also didn’t mess up my back. It does take a moment to adjust to this property, the rooms are cozy (small), as is the bathroom and shower. I was traveling alone. If I were with another person I would book a bigger room. The staff is delightful, as is the lobby. Lots of books and games and places to sit and look at the river. Loved the music that was playing in the lobby in the evening. Not many dining options nearby, I drove into Cresent City for dinner and had a delightful meal at SeaQuake Brewery. "

"We had an amazing time. Definitely something to come back to. Great location, 25 mins to the coast, lots of incredible trails and beautiful scenery throughout the area. The property was immaculate, cozy and better then expected.expected"

"This was a great place with plenty of room and all the amenities we needed. We loved hanging out on the wrap around porch or in the family room with the fire place watching movies or playing games in the evening. It’s a great location for taking day trips to the Redwoods or many beaches. "

"We had to scramble to find a place that allowed dogs at the last minute and this cute little bungalow was perfect! From the fresh cookies to the basket of doggie amenities, we felt right at home. Back deck and yard were wonderful. Would definitely stay there again. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at BMH, and would definitely stay again. Beautiful view of the Smith River. Fully stocked house with many amenities (bbq, fire pit, etc.) Just up the road from many great Hiking and fishing locations as well. "Back to nature with all the comforts of home. Stunning property delightful home. I would move here in a heart beat and be happy for the rest of my life. Perfect retreat. I am 75, i wanted to spend some time in the deep forest but have some limiting mobility factors. This property had the right mix of tall trees, water, and shektered places to sit and enjoy nature with only a short walk. Beautiful home, many large windows so even when I was inside i could enjoy the outside . Absolutly heaven on earth!"
