"The property was perfectly located by the lake surrounded by nature and within walking distance to buses, the ropeway and cruise ships. Our twin room with open air bath was exceptionally clean and our room, along with the rest of the property, had all the amenities you needed, of a high standard. The only downside were the meals. Being a little isolated, the accommodation rate includes a breakfast and dinner buffet, however despite the extensive menu, they fail to provide any hot vegetable dishes… not ideal for non meat eaters. Regardless, we still recommend a stay at this beautiful spot on the lake."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Hakone Airu. From the moment we stepped in we were treated well. They held our luggage for us before we checked in so that we could explore the town. Our rooms were very clean and spacious. The private onsen was amazing and we had an amazing view of the mountains. We felt very relaxed in our rooms. Our stay included both dinners and breakfasts for our two night stay. The dinner was amazing, the first night we had wagyu beef shabu and with the appetizers we were so full. The second night we had crab meat which was also amazing and plentiful. Both breakfasts were great and filling as well. Overall this was probably on the best places I’ve stayed at and would definitely come back again!"

"This was a top-notch accommodation which exceeded all our expectations. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The dining options were spectacular. The attention to detail in the service and the range of complimentary snacks and drinks at the lobby were amazing as well. We especially loved the onsen, which was the highlight of our trip - the outdoor onsen with views of the garden lit up at night was simply bedazzling. The shuttle buses running to and fro Gora Station made transportation relatively accessible, and we found the location of the property quite central to the different spots we wanted to visit. In short, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic stay in Hakone. "

"It is a 5 min walk from the station, the rooms are clean and the building feels new. The real differentiator though is the onsen on the 12 floor with sauna, hot and cold baths... a treat."

"This Classic and traditional Japanese resort was wonderful! We decided to splurge and booked w half board- the breakfast and Dinner - all very traditional Japanese food, tasty and beautifully presented. We reserved the Japanese style room and enjoyed the comfortable futon. The Ofuro was empty when we went so we really enjoyed the ofuro - make sure to check out both the 6th floor and 2nd floor ofuro (M/F switch times). It was so close to the hakone yumoto station where it was convenient as the starting point for area sightseeing. For arrival, we took a bus from Okayama JR station for ¥480 which dropped us off half a block away from this Ryokan. Would recommend this Ryokan."
